A woman in her late 30s was arrested in West Valley City, Utah after an incident at her home that led to the death of her boyfriend, according to police. Fabiola Lara Templos, age 39, was taken into custody and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail amid an investigation into a fatal stabbing that occurred on Christmas Day this year. KSL

Details of the Incident

Officers were called shortly before 8 a.m. on December 25 after reports of a seriously injured man at a residence in the West Valley City area. When officers arrived, they found a male occupant deceased with multiple stab wounds. Investigators say the confrontation happened inside a garage attached to the home. KSL

According to the police affidavit, people at the residence told detectives that Templos, her boyfriend, her 11-year-old daughter and her adult son had been at a party earlier in the morning. Shortly thereafter, Templos’s adult son allegedly witnessed the victim engaging in inappropriate behavior toward the juvenile daughter. Police allege that after being informed of what happened, the defendant confronted the man with a large kitchen knife. Surveillance video mentioned in the affidavit reportedly shows Templos stabbing him multiple times. KSL

Police located the knife used in the garage, and it was still covered in what appeared to be blood. KSL

At this time authorities have charged Templos with murder and the case is being processed through the Utah criminal justice system. Because this matter is currently under investigation, all individuals mentioned in police reports are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
